Association Mapping of Thousand Grain Weight using SSR and SNP Markers in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Across Six Environments

Abstract Thousand grain weight (TGW) is an important determinant of rice yield, and correlates with size, plumpness number per panicle. In rice, there are fewer association mapping studies relating traits using both SSR SNP markers. this study, in order to find robust markers associated TGW trait mine elite accessions we investigated the across six environments a natural population consisted 462 accessions, then performed Using datasets from their best linear unbiased estimator, identified eight markers, three environmentally stable one newly found, on five chromosomes. The have genetic effect 3.44% 20.84%, two them carry allele positive different environments. Candidate interval re-sequencing derived SNP/InDel further confirms TGW-SSR association, also suggests that 3 associations were high confident intervals size 176 603 kb. These results not only shed more lights genetics trait, but suggest multi-allelic should be used as alternative power tool gene or QTL mapping.
